Jan is an ex Police Officer with 15 years of Police Driving experience.

Jan was an instuctor at the Victoria Police Motor Driving School, teaching police officers in both practical driving and classroom theory.  She taught pursuit driving on the Calder Raceway and The Thunderdome in Melbourne, and has completed a defensive driving course at the Lakeside Raceway in Brisbane.

As a Driving Instructor in the early 90`s, Jan had the highest pass rate of all instructors on the Gold Coast being officially informed by Queensland Transport.

The new Honda Jazz was chosen with the learner driver in mind, being an absolutely ideal car to learn to drive in. Learners quickly feel at ease and seem to relax within afew short minutes. It has comfortable seating with adjustments to suit all heights and sizes. As well as moving up and down, the steering wheel also moves forward towards the driver and has a nice smooth but firm feel when driving. Learners often comment on the large outside mirrors which improves your visibility either side.

The Jazz is smooth and easy to drive, great for learning the manoevres. Parking is a breeze! True, really it is - learners are always surprised how quick and easy they can learn the Reverse Parking, especially with my easy step method. The 3 point turn is easy to learn too as it has a really good turning circle.

I love teaching driving in the Jazz, apart from meeting and getting to know all you wonderful learners, it makes my job even more pleasurable, especially when you flash your new driver`s licence at me!

A Word From Jan  "Hi there, my aim to get you guys to the highest standard I possibly can so that when you go for your test your chances of passing your test are extremely high. This way if you are abit nervous at the beginning of the test you usually won`t make any major errors. I find most learners settle down after a couple of minutes into the test as you find that it is never as bad as you thought it might be. Amazing how we conjure up all these negative thoughts and worry for nothing! The testers are a nice bunch of people and are NOT out to fail you at all - they want you to do well and pass your test. I have often had written across a driving test sheet - Well Done A Good Drive, or words similar to that. Some of my learners have even come away with a clean slate - no faults at all, so it can be done. I like you to enjoy you lessons and also enjoy a good laugh at times, hey we all make mistakes, so if you can laugh about it, learn from it and then move on... you`re well on your way to passing your driving test!"
